My Musical Journey

My musical journey started in high school when I joined band freshman year. I couldn't play in band when I was a junior or senior since I had to take other required classes. During my junior and senior year in high school, I joined Winter Percussion which is basically competitions in the AIA (atlantic indoor association) where we compete with other schools in our class and show off our skills. We earned second place both years but that was pretty good since our class has 10 groups in it. After I graduated from high school I was accepted into UMO and I was a psychology major. that didn't work out for me so well. My old advisor told me that switching majors would be the best option for me. I thought since I was already in band at UMO why not be a music major at UMO as well. So i went through the interviewing process and was accepted with open arms. That's what made me a Music Education major with my focus being on Percussion since I played that in high school.
